Rehabilitated Gaara Bug

The last two times I have used "Desert Imperial Funeral" on people with destructible defense, all of the damage went into the destructible defense. From the description, it sounds like it is supposed to destroy the defense and THEN apply the 40-piercing damage. I don't remember who this happened to on the first time but the second time I was trying to get rid of original Gaara's "Armor of Sand".

Did Gaara have Sand Clone with the Sand Armor? Because it’s skill is able to ignore all harmful effects except damage and chakra cost effects. As destroying DD is considered a harmful effect, it ignored that rule and only took the 40 piercing damage instead.

Edited: Not bug. Confirmed. My explanation about Sand Clone ruled it out.
